The City of Texarkana, Texas urges citizens to sign up for Hyper-Reach, a mass notification system for emergency, critical events & urgent situations. This system is an ultra-high-speed cellphone, text, email, and landline communication system that allows for targeting a specific area or blanket notification of an area. It can deliver thousands of phone calls and/or text messages in a matter of seconds to residents in Bowie and Miller county including both sides of the Stateline.
The system will notify residents of critical community alerts, such as: severe weather, local emergencies, evacuation notices, bioterrorism alerts, boil notices, and missing persons alerts. By signing up for alerts, users will be notified of a tornado, severe weather or harsh winter conditions by the National Weather Service. The system uses user registered addresses, so alerts are able to be made to only those who are directly in the path of a dangerous storm. The system will only be used for emergency purposes.
Users can register multiple phone numbers at a single address, and they can have notifications set up for additional locations, such as their work place or a relative’s home.
Sign up for Bowie County Hyper-Reach notifications, or contact Owen Jones at owen.jones@texarkanatexas.gov or 903-798-3496 for additional questions.
